Durbach – vineyards between Ortenau and Black Forest
Durbach lies near Offenburg on the western edge of the Black Forest, close to Strasbourg. Steep slopes, different elevations, weathered granite soils and many winegrower families shape the village.

Location and landscape
A wine village with many perspectives.
The valley opens towards the Rhine plain and reaches into the Black Forest. Vineyards start in the village and range from sheltered valley sites to steep higher slopes.
Sun, slope, air movement and granite soils create many small local climates for viticulture.

Grape varieties
Klingelberger, Pinot Noir and local specialities.
Klingelberger is the local name for Riesling. Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Clevner and Gewürztraminer are also important, with further varieties adding diversity.
The range of sites supports fresh whites, fuller reds, sparkling wines and specialities.
